Of course, screeners are human, but TAXI screeners are hired because of their experience in the industry and they have listened to probably thousands of songs in their day and are hired because they are experts in pictures their field. It's not a referendum on that song, it's just that the song wasn't right for the listing. One song may pictures get forwarded with high marks for one listing and get totally shot down for another. The screeners are mandated to screen according to the listings.
Even though I live in San Francisco, which is a fairly active music market, I don't really have the time to do tons of networking and marketing on my own so TAXI has really helped me leverage my music and my time and I have made some great connections and have well over 200 pieces of music published, and counting!. I have learned a ton about how the business works from my TAXI experience and also from very knowledgable members who are very successful as a pictures result of TAXI and who I have become very good friends with. I have been a TAXI member for 6 years now and have been seriously pursuing a composing career for 4 years. I get regular ASCAP royalty checks, not huge ones yet, pictures but for the past 4 years they have been steadily growing.
